Joaquin Vanschoren is an Associate Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and head of the AMOR/e research group, focusing on advanced AI systems and making machine learning more open, accessible, and reproducible. He founded OpenML and chairs the Open Machine Learning Foundation, was the inaugural chair of the NeurIPS Datasets and Benchmarks Track, co-founded the Croissant standard and co-chairs the MLCommons Croissant working group, and is founder and editor-in-chief of the DMLR journal. A founding member of the ELLIS Network of Excellence, his expertise spans open machine learning, data-centric AI, benchmarking, reproducible research, and community-driven infrastructure.
