Merlijn is an Intellectual Property Manager at TU Delft, where he made a substantial contribution to TU Delft’s (OS) Software Research Guidelines. Since May 2026, has been seconded to Erasmus University Rotterdam to assist in developing a comparable guideline encompassing current advances in AI and tailored to the specific needs of a leading SSH university. His combination of first-hand research experience, legal expertise, and practical Technology Transfer Office experience informs his approach to the responsible management and transfer of research outputs resulting from publicly funded research, with society as the ultimate beneficiary.
