Timon Idema is an associate professor at TU Delft, and director of studies of the joint-degree Nanobiology programme. He is a pioneer in the use of interactive open textbooks, of which he has published three, and initiated a university-wide publication and development process. For his educational work, he received multiple prizes, including the SURF education award (2023). Recently, he has been developing co-creation methods for open textbooks as an educational tool, funded by a Comenius Leadership Fellow grant (2025).
